Fred Shafer opened Taste of Dawn in the winter of 1976, a pioneer in the natural foods movement, bringing herbs and whole foods to the community. Over the years Fred's knowledge has expanded integrating the latest research in the natural products industry. His expertise in whole food nutrition and supplementation and his genuine care giving customer service are the cornerstones of Taste of Dawn's success.

Sierra Shafer has worked at Taste of Dawn full time since 2002. She has studied herbal medicine with Betsy Bancroft AHG. She is inspired about alternative, holistic solutions to our modern ails. Being raised holistically, she is passionate about exploring the body's healing potential through the direct experience of nature. We are strong believers in fresh air and sunlight therapy!
